
AK-CESCL Initial Course
Service Description
he AK-CESCL Initial Certification is a two-day, 16-hour course designed to provide participants with the knowledge needed to effectively manage erosion, sediment, and stormwater requirements on construction projects in Alaska. Course topics include erosion and sedimentation processes, regulatory requirements, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs), Best Management Practices (BMPs), inspections, recordkeeping, and cold-climate construction challenges. To become AK-CESCL certified, participants must attend the entire course and pass the written exam. Certification is valid for three years. Individuals who currently hold a CPESC, CESSWI, CPSWQ, or CISEC certification may bypass the two-day Initial Certification course and attend the 8-hour AK-CESCL Refresher Course. If a participant does not achieve a passing score in the Refresher Course, they must complete the two-day Initial Certification course to obtain AK-CESCL certification.
